The Silent Killer: What the Marketing Doesn’t Tell You

There’s one thing I didn’t realize until I’d owned this for a month. The 420 iQ does not have a traditional ‘stop mowing’ button. You press the stop button on the top, but the mower will still re-start itself if it thinks the job isn’t done. That’s by design — it’s supposed to be autonomous. But the first time I wanted to move it to the other side of the yard to cut a specific strip, I had to put it in manual mode through the app, which takes about 30 seconds. Not a big deal, but if you’re used to just grabbing a mower and pushing it, there’s a learning curve.

Also, the app requires a cellular or Wi-Fi connection to the base station.
